The Dušan Nedelko Foundation provides financial support to youth and youth programs who need this to participate in or deliver enabling outdoor experiences in Ontario, Canada.  We are passionate about helping children and youth develop through outdoor activities, life and leadership skill sets, a strong sense of accomplishment and connection with nature that will guide ongoing healthy life choices and stewardship of the environment.

Who may apply?

Youth and children (with the help of a guardian) of 18 years or younger are encouraged to apply for support for all or part the costs (depending on need) of participating in an outdoor learning program based in Ontario.  We additionally consider applications from older Ontario residents for support of tuition for a training program that prepares them to become an effective mentor of younger people in outdoor programs.  We also accept applications and develop partnerships with not-for-profit Canadian organizations who are in need of assistance to deliver such programs safely, effectively and with improved access to disadvantaged youth here in Ontario.

Our annual awards currently range up to a maximum of $2 500 each.   Applicants can demonstrate a need for assistance by applying before either of our bi-annual spring or fall Equinox deadlines (upcoming:  March 20 & Sept 21st).  We will review all applications, respond to these within the month that follows and award funds when they are required and we can within the year that follows.

On an occasional, ’emergency’ basis, where we can make a significant difference but the opportunity  happens between our regular funding terms, we may award an applicant up to $500 within a minimum processing time of 3 weeks.
